I got my first period a couple weeks after my 14th birthday. (Yes I know, I was a late bloomer.) It was my last week of 8th grade and it was on June 5th, 2019. Almost every girl I knew already had their period and I knew all about periods because of my friends, ( one of my friends even got her first period at my house). I was feeling very left out and embarrassed that I didn’t have my period yet. I even thought something was wrong with me and that i didn’t think I was ever gonna get my period and would never become a woman.
But little did I know that when I went to the bathroom before taking my dog on his evening walk, my dream would finally come true, that I would get my period. Coincidentally, I was watching period videos on tiktok before going to the bathroom because I had a feeling I was gonna start soon. I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, I noticed there was blood and then I looked down and there was blood on my underwear too. I immediately knew it was my period so I went to my mom and told her that there was blood in my underwear and I thought that I got my period. She gave me a pad and taught me how to wash out the stain. When I was washing out the stain, I was filled with so many emotions. I was scared, happy, excited, nervous and I felt like crying but overall it was a special moment in my life and I’m glad I have it even though it is annoying sometimes.
